Hoofprints in the Sand

Original artwork.

Oil on canvas, 61 x 76 cm. Framed in an oak-finish tray frame, 64 x 80 cm.

This was a painting undertaken in the spirit of Pareidolia and the horse and figure were developed from imagination, looking into the initial abstract markings, laid down in paint. The gestural brushstrokes and ethereal quality of the forms conjure a beautiful connectedness between human and horse. This reminds me of a childhood growing up riding our horses across the beach and swimming with them in the bay.
